Privacy Policy
We run a newsletter about sensual nightlife, so we know privacy matters more than usual here. We collect as little as we can, we never sell it, and we never share who reads us.
Last updated October 27, 2026
The short version
- If you subscribe, we keep your email address and a few dates about your subscription. That’s it.
- We never sell, rent or trade your information, and we never share our subscriber list with advertisers, sponsors or event organizers.
- We don’t use advertising trackers, analytics cookies or tracking pixels, and our emails don’t track opens or clicks.
- Every email has a one-click unsubscribe, and you can ask us to delete everything at any time.
Who we are
The Weekly Tease (“we”, “us”) is a free weekly newsletter and events calendar for adults in the Denver area, published by Caresse. This policy covers theweeklytease.com, the newsletter, and anything you send us. If you have a question about it, email hello@theweeklytease.com.
What we collect
When you subscribe
Your email address, when you signed up and confirmed, how you signed up (our website, a referral link or an import from our previous newsletter platform), your subscription status, and your email preferences. If you joined through a friend’s referral link, we note who referred you so referral rewards work. We also keep a record of each newsletter we send you and whether it was delivered, bounced or marked as spam, so we can stop sending to addresses that don’t work.
When you submit an event
The event details you give us, your email address and your role (organizer, performer or fan). We also keep a scrambled, one-way version of your IP address to stop spam. It can’t be turned back into your address.
When you email us
Your email address, your message and anything you attach. We use it to reply.
When you visit the website
You can read the whole site without giving us anything. Like every website, ours receives your IP address and basic browser information with each request. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes this to deliver the site and protect it from attacks. We briefly store IP addresses to limit how often one address can use the signup and submission forms. Those records are deleted automatically after a day. We don’t build profiles of visitors.
What we don’t collect
We don’t ask for your name, phone number, address, birthday or payment details. We don’t buy data about you from anyone, and we don’t collect information about your sexual preferences or what you’re into beyond what you choose to tell us in an email.
How we use it
- To send you the newsletter and the emails you ask for (like the confirmation link), and to stop sending when you unsubscribe.
- To review, verify and publish event submissions, and to contact you about yours.
- To answer your messages.
- To keep the site and newsletter working, secure and free of spam and abuse.
- To meet our legal obligations, such as honoring unsubscribe requests under the CAN-SPAM Act.
We don’t use your information for advertising, and we don’t make automated decisions about you.
Our emails
We use double opt-in: you’re only subscribed after you click the link in the confirmation email. Every newsletter has an unsubscribe link at the bottom, and email apps that support it show a one-click unsubscribe button too. Unsubscribing takes effect right away. We keep your address on a do-not-send list afterwards, only so you’re never emailed again by mistake (unless you ask us to delete it entirely).
Our newsletter doesn’t include tracking pixels, and links aren’t rewritten to record clicks. If we ever decide to measure opens or clicks, we’ll update this policy first.
Sponsored spots in the newsletter are labeled. Sponsors never receive our subscriber list or any information about who read or clicked their spot.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the companies that run our service for us, and only what they need to do that job:
- Cloudflare: hosts the website, the database, the images and the domain’s DNS.
- Amazon Web Services (Amazon SES): delivers our emails.
- Our email inbox provider: holds the messages you send us.
These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments. We may also disclose information if the law requires it (for example a valid court order), to protect someone’s safety, or to the new owner if The Weekly Tease is ever sold or transferred, in which case this policy would continue to apply. Otherwise, we don’t share your information with anyone.
Cookies and browser storage
The public website doesn’t set any cookies. When you confirm you’re 18 or older, your browser remembers that for the rest of your visit using session storage, which is cleared when you close the tab. Our admin pages use one essential login cookie for our staff. Cloudflare may set strictly necessary security cookies to protect the site from bots.
How long we keep it
- Subscribers: for as long as you’re subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we keep your email address and subscription dates, marked as unsubscribed, so we never email you by mistake and so you can rejoin from your preferences link. Ask us and we’ll delete all of it.
- Unconfirmed signups: deleted automatically after 7 days if the confirmation link isn’t used.
- Records used to stop form spam (which hold IP addresses): deleted automatically after a day.
- Event submissions: deleted automatically after 12 months. Published event details stay on the site as part of the calendar and archive, without your email address.
- Emails you send us: as long as needed to deal with them.
- Recovery copies: our database host keeps a short rolling history so we can recover from mistakes. Deleted data drops out of it within 30 days.
Your choices and rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- tell you what information we hold about you, and send you a copy;
- correct it;
- delete it;
- stop emailing you (or just use the unsubscribe link).
Email hello@theweeklytease.com from the address in question, and we’ll respond within 30 days. If we need to confirm the request is really from you, we’ll ask by replying to that address. Depending on where you live, laws like the Colorado Privacy Act, the California Consumer Privacy Act or the GDPR may give you these rights and others, such as the right to appeal our decision or to complain to a regulator. We honor these requests for everyone, and we’ll never treat you differently for making one. We don’t sell or “share” personal information for targeted advertising as those laws define it, so there’s nothing to opt out of there.
Adults only
The Weekly Tease is for adults 18 and over. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone younger. If you believe someone under 18 has subscribed or sent us information, tell us and we’ll delete it.
Security
The site only works over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Our database is accessible only to our service and our staff, and staff accounts are protected with strong passwords and two-factor authentication. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep what we hold small, which limits what could ever be exposed. If a breach ever affects your information, we’ll tell you promptly.
Other websites and event organizers
Event listings link to organizers’, venues’ and ticket sellers’ own websites. When you follow those links, buy tickets or RSVP, you’re dealing with them, not us, and their privacy policies apply. Many events (especially play parties) ask for ID, membership details or waivers. Read how each organizer handles that before you share it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top. If the change is significant, for example if we start collecting something new, we’ll tell subscribers in the newsletter before it takes effect.
